Estudio de los centros de mayores: usuarios y mejoraSenior centers meet along the year more than 250 000 people over 60 years in the Community of Madrid. They participate in all kinds of activities, from traditional (cards, dominoes, etc.) to more innovative (Tai Chi, laughter therapy, etc.), to courses of all kinds, hiking tours in Spain and abroad. Therefore, these centers are for social services a valuable resource that keeps the elder active and excited.

Novadays carried out a study for the government of the Community of Madrid which seeking the opinion that the member elders of the centers had on each of them; on the improvements that users believed necessary at those centers; on the valuation of various activities taking place there; and on future demand for activities. The survey results served the Regional Social Welfare Service, the agency responsible for managing major centers for the design of new policies and programmes to improve those schools.

We carried out a face survey with a representative survey of center's users (1100 users) and we worked with qualitative research techniques in different centers.

The project was presented to the elderly in a mass act in which they themselves could see how their proposals were taken up and chat with Novadays' team members and the Regional Service Welfare State.
